trying my new study on unsuspecting victims, this one chose the funniest line so deserved to be published here happy.png I love observing their reactions on some awkward but still very accurate lines.

Must be like "ohh.. this was always here? for ages?.. and i never noticed?! wth :#"

Anonymous players, not sure about their ratings. But according to study statistics, even many 2k+ players fall for this (or other tricky lines) of Roussea gambit.

Study says there is only one proper response.. looks very similar to Vienna gambit.

I kind of liked this trap.  White should play Nc3 instead d3 to threaten the pawn. And instead Qe2, white can play Nd4. It might seem a blunder, but actually after black captures the knight, white have Qh5 and black position is messed up.

Yes, 4 d4 is a Vienna Gambit (1 e4 e5 2 Nc3 Nf6 3 f4 d5) with colors reversed and an extra move 3 Bc4 for white.

Not just a trap, it's a whole gambit. There are many other lines in Rousseau. Most of them are tricky though. One should know how to respond them at least.

This one i shared is the most damaging line, others usually give positional advantages & initiative and attacking chances.

Not very expected in Italian as black

It also shows some resemblance with the Queen's Gambit Accepted.

Sacrificed pawn can be taken back after a simple d5. It kicks white bishop and gains a tempo to capture the pawn on f5 with newly opened light bishop's diagonal.
