Tomorrow, Bobby Fischer's famous book, My 60 Memorable Games, is being reissued. The 2008 edition apparently includeds modern notation and is said to incorporate everything that Fischer wanted to see in the book. Previous editions were said to be considered less than satisfactory by Fischer.

GM Patrick Wolff, author of what many consider the best written introduction to chess, The Completer Idiot's Guide to Chess, describes My 60 Memorable Games as "This may be the single best book ever written on chess."

Is anyone else intending to buy? Can we expect lineups at the local chess store?

Woah heck yes. First off, I allready have a problem when I get on amazon.com ordering chess books. A classic like that one is what a lot of people (I think) have been waiting for. After the fiasco with the last release...well it's about time that they fixed things. If it's available I'll pick it up! Thanks for the infoCool

As one patzer to another you're quite welcome. I thought the reappearance of this book would be big news but I guess not based on the response. I read that Garry Kasparov used an illegal Russian translation as part of his early chess studies. If that's the case the book is good enough for me to at least read although to say I'm going to study it may be a bit strong for my chess skills.

Thanks for the "heads up", Smoke 20. Yeah, I will definitely be purchasing the book. No doubt!

Fischer set the tone for playing against the Two Knights' Defense with the game included in My 60 Memorable Games.  Any admirer (or disiple) of Robert J. Fischer should own a copy.

How much are they selling it for? I would like to buy one. : )

The new version is indeed algebraic. For those of us who are more chess players than book collectors the new edition is really good news. A plentiful supply of brand new condition copies at normal pricing.
