it happens, someone that's new to the chess world reads an article about this being a bad thing to do as a beginner, but that is the only thing he remembers from the article, and forgets it's a bad thing to do...

No, this is not fools mate. Fools mate is the Q & B combo on F7. This is called "Moron's Mate"
I thought the bishop queen combo was called the scholars mate.

Wrong, I'm afraid...
Fools mate is what is displayed in Post 1. The Q+B combo is known as Scholars Mate.
A more reasonable game with this motif would go like this:
I have a hard time beliving that he was playing serios. But I have made it once but it was in like the 7th move he moved his gpawn forward.
