Neat Miniature exploiting Lack of Development

Not a gem by any means but this is pretty instructive on how to exploit wasted moves in the opening.

Not really lack of devlopment... More like terrible blunders.

There were only a few real blunders here...Nh5 was a blunder but not immediately obvious that Nxe5 wins. ...Be6 was a blunder but he was lost already at that point.

It really was a lack of development and just wasting time at the beginning of the game. The light squared bishop never saw the light of day and neither did the Queenside rook. He wasted all this time with h6 - g5 - Nh5 that should have been spent developing.

h6 and g5 both gained tempo, you had to spend time repositioning your bishop.

I disagree with you, RobKing. This wasn't  due to lack of development, but lack of positional knowledge (that allowed the attack). h6 and g5 are NOT wasted moves, as they lose no tempi. (You are forced to move your bishop.)

no...but the idea of Nh5 is a wasted move. I guess if you want to argue about it...then no it wasnt all lack of development it was the positional mistake of opening up his kingside but to me the positional mistake was also not developing his pieces correctly and in a timely fashion. He should have just castled or something...so sure it was about positional mistakes.

This wasn't one of my most impressive games but it was fun nonetheless.

at what point does lack of development become a blunder?
