So I lost but...

So I played this game today in live chess against a player with a much higher rating than my own, (nearly 400 points) and I think I did a fairly decent job of simplifying and fighting for a draw. Unfortunately when we got to an even pawns/knights endgame I lost my thread and dropped two pawns before resigning.

I personally think this was a decent game, but I would like some critique/analysis (I am running it through the sites computer at the moment) about whether or not the game was actually equal for the most part, and if there were any obvious blunders or mistakes on either side.

I think 38. Ne5 was better

40.b3 was the only major blunder I saw

In general you played well it was equal utill you blundered the pawns, but don't sweat it, for me pure knite endgames of that sort are my worst nightmare and I lose them ofter and I don't consider myself a bad player, it's just that those endgames are hard they require the ability to look ahead many moves, and it was timed so you did pretty well under the circumstances...Keep up the good work!

5. d4 is the mainline but I had never looked too far into the Russian game, the computer rates my bishop e2 move as fine.

And yes... 40 b3 was totally inaccurate, obviously I was trying to stymie where the knight could potentially move to, but it was just an oversight that lost me a pawn.

And yes, any endgame featuring knights and pawns exclusively is my worst nightmare >.>

Well, if you do not like knightendgames, why you are so desperately trying to change Roochs? If I were you, I would like to change a pair of other pieses!
