Just want to put a disclaimer that my opponent has a million winning moves, that always will exist in such positions, especially in the horrible one i got in. As a result I wont be going into most of them. I won by win on timeout, do to perpetual checks that did not result in a repetition. Time control is 10 min.
The basic idea as you will see when playing a piece down is to create complications, create threats, attack opponnets king etc. Make them uncomfortable to try to force blunders/mistakes, as I eventually did when he got in time pressure. If you have an active position but no queen, look to exchange pawns, but not pieces.
When playing a piece up avoid complications, its fine to be a pawn or two down, as long as they have no easy way to get rolling. Look to castle and trade pieces. King and king with bishop/knight with only kingside pawns is winning, never forget that (even if pawn down in most positions). Dont trade pawns.
