The Polish Opening

I recently discovered a odd and fun opening. Its called "Polish opening" and starts with b4. Played it for 2 days now, and thinks its great fun. Here is a recent game. Probably a lot of rookie mistakes, but i am pretty satisfied with the result.(yes, i know its just a silly blitz game)

My question is: Is there anybody out there playing this opening sometimes, and what is your experience with the odd b4?

you're opoment wasn't great player but good win if i were playing at the start imight have played c3 or even c4 if you're worried about b pawn also after move 6 ba3 keeps the king in the centre after qd3 g6 stops it and qg6 not so good but also stops it

A co-worker of mine play's that once'n a while. He cought me off guard with it the first time. Almost had his way with me with it. That single little pawn became troublesom after a while. The second game i played, he pulled out the same pawn and i took care of it right away with a little b5 action. I had to play his game though. b5 is not a common starter for me when black. As close as i get to the polish opening is c4 first. ( only if i'm feeling lucky ) Thanks for the post.

I haven't used it but it seems to be a good idea to use a less common opening, even if it isn't as good as other openings it confuses your opponent. And as long as you know what you are doing you might get an advantage

If my opponent opens 1d4 i will often play 1...b5 in responce as an anti c4 measure, though playing it with black pieces can be harrowing if you arent careful.  I dont like advancing the pawn further than b4 because with 2.b5 your opponent can play ...c6 and trade b pawns.
