the real shortest game is probably a noob playing e4 and premoving Qh5 and getting hit by Nf6
The shortest game in history - Guiness record

I think this is a wrong statement... THe two move checkmate is the shortest game in history... i even know some people who resign after thier first move, SO THIS IS FAKE! ;)
I think @dragon27 got this wrong, this isn't fake. This game is played between two grandmasters, and it is the fastest checkmate between grandmasters, of course, no grandmaster would get mated in two moves.

White resigned because it was either lose the queen or the game because if white took knight then black plays queen h4 and it is then white blocks with pawn and black takes pawn checkmate

This is a rough translation from a norwegian Guinness book of Records, from 1968:
The shortest game ever registered between two grand masters, was in four moves. Lazard defeated Gibaud in a chess cafè in Paris in 1924.
Personally, I think the quickest game is g4 e5 f3 Qh4# but I get the point.
I think jschlatt vs Alexandra Botez was the shortest game, it went e4, f3, d4, g4, Qh4#
