What was the logic behind 13. Rxe5? The Rook is enprise. The reply 13...Rxe5 wins material and also attacks the g5 Bishop, which forces White to either take the f6 Knight or move on, and either way breaks the pin on the f6 Knight against the Queen.

I also don't understand 13...Bxf2+.  Why not 14. Kxf2, gaining material.  (Same question with 17. Bxh7+.  Doesn't make sense to me.)

jaypac

OK, 15. Bxh7 is a great move, because it discovers the attack on the Queen, so I understand that one.  But I still think that 14. Kxf2 was better, especially since Black gains back the Queen because of the Bishop check against the King on e1, and that Bishop on f2 was crucial in the final mating attack.

@jaypac

he played 13. Rxe5 coz if i then take his rook RxRe5 my rook dosn't anymore protect the Queen and with the move u understand and in the game that was 15.Bxh7 he has my queen and that is the trap he set for me... so then i didnt defend agins that trap but set him trap on trap... frist with 13.Bxf2 and like u said 14. Kxf2 wasn't good because then i play 14. Qd4 attack the King and win the rook. Because of that he didnt play that and play worst move 14. Kf1 what is a trap coz when he win my Queen i can win his with in the game 16.

do u understand now? i thray to explan as best as i could :)

jaypac

I understand, and thank you for explaining it!

Lorka
