I wouldn't hold your breath for this one, it sounds like a hasty challenge made in the heat of the moment. Don't get me wrong Hans is good right now, given Hikaru's recent performance in FIDE's Rapid & Blitz he would probably beat him, and he and Magnus are pretty even seeing as he went 1 game up in their Blitz quaterfinal match on NYE in NY, but its unecessary since he's already been found innocent, allowed back in chess.com played them multiple times OTB but lost overall although his performance has been good enough to exonerate him! Remember there was also the SCC 2024 in September before the FIDE Rapid & Blitz where Hans lost to both of them narrowly in Semis to Magnus and 3rd Place Playoffs to Hikaru!)
This is simply yet another effort Hans is attempting to clear his name which to me isnt necessary since he is clearly good enough OTB to make it to quaterfinals of Fide Blitz 2024 and even beat the World Champ in at least one game but still there are people (mostly Russians) still accussing him of cheating, see Daniil Dubov's decision to fake sleeping in his hotel room in protest of playing Hans in the FIDE Blitz see their interviews with Levi on Take Take Take;
But it isnt only Hans who is continuing to try and clear his name from cheating allegations there's also Kramnik on Narowditsky after on of his streams and Kramnik on José Martínez Alcántara due to his impressive Titled Tuesdays results. In Jose's situation he agreed to have chess.com come and film him live one day;
followed by a head to head battle under test conditions Clash of Claims followed by a rematch in London with Levi called Clash of Blames held from 19th August to 21st August.
In Narowditsky's case he tried over and over to prove his innocence by responding to all Kramniks posts and queries but ultimately realised it would never end and let his "Chess speaks for itself" and came to FIDE Blitz 2024 and laid an impressive performance narowly missing the playoff finals and then talked about it again with Levi in Take Take Take
This is yet another episode in this Accusers vs the Acussed saga and attempt of Hans to "cash in" on the attention and why not, but it's like the time in 2022 when he offered to play naked vs Magnus, Magnus never rises to these things regardless of the dollar amount nor does Hikaru, after their expensive court cases they know better to get involved. in their settlement they agreed to play one another if paired in tournaments in future beyond that I wouldnt expect anything!

And suddenly he gave us a million reasons to question him... Why?
I'd be interested in seeing a match for a million dollars between them - maybe 6 classical games, 12 Rapid games, and 24 Blitz games. Points added up for each of three sections. It would be interesting to see.
But if I'm honest I don't think Hans Niemann would win out in any category even if this happened. It would be a big shock to Niemann's ego and an even bigger boost to Magnus's already planet-sized one.
