1980 - 1700 Rapid Elo (Lost 200 Rating in a Week and Thinking of Quitting)

I've lost around 200 rapid rating in around 2 weeks and I'm thinking of quitting chess. This was probably because I had exams and didn't have time to play chess. This is not the first time I have lost 200 Elo in a short amount of time. I've lost 200 Elo in both Rapid and Blitz but this feels different because I was super excited to get to 2000 Elo (I was 1980 Elo) and that the usual advice online suggests that I take a break but I don't think that makes any sense since not playing chess  is the reason that I lost 200 Elo.

Well, exams and no time to play chess. Hopefully you did great with the exams and now can concentrate a little bit more on chess.

Maintain a positive attitude and remind yourself that rating fluctuations are part of the learning process. Focus on improvement rather than just the rating.

You are too attached to the number, ur still the same chess player and you will get back to the rating you were before the tilt

I lose 100's of rating points monthly - fell horrible for a week or 2 then gain more than I lost and come back better than ever
