Does anyone play this? Is it harder and more complex than normal chess? How should I start if I want to learn?

Not sure if youre trying to be funny or not...

or are you talking about "star trek's" version...

either way.

no.

I never set the pieces to 3-D it makes it harder to play if you ask me. Playing that way makes it easier to follow live games shot from a side angle as they often are though.

Don't particularly like the 3d chess on here. Even though I haven't played OTB for ages I find that easier to tune in to than the "real 3d" option. I assume you're talking about that..

thegreat_patzer

ok.

so first thing.  what ARE we talking about.

* the way the peices look

* variants of chess where they add other boards

* playing chess on a real board, "OTB", cuz some people think it helps to study in "3d"

I'm guessing many people think this is about what the peices look like.

never really bothered me, either way.

far as I can tell I have same 'board' vision with either  real staunton pieces, digital images of those kinds of pieces, or the normal online/ book representations.
