3D chess software recommendation

Hello,

would anyone recommend a good 3D chess program for Windows, that would have a wide range of difficulty setting? Something a tired person could play to relax.

Thanks. That is a good tip. Unfortunately I use Windows 7.

Currently I use the Chess Titans but it sucks and some bug causes white to play queen's gambit every time (on my difficulty settings).

I'm not a big fan of 3D chess GUIs, but my two cents -

I think the two best examples are the commercial Fritz GUI (I had Fritz 8) and the defunct Chessmaster GUI. As far as freeware, there are a number of "not-so-good" ones. One that I've heard of but never used is DreamChess, but it can only use Winboard engines.

I am an IT professional / software developer. I need a working and stable system.
Not a Windows 10 nightmare produced by Indian people. happy.png

A couple of times here, I've called Windows 10 a dumpster fire, so I agree with you there. I had to move over to Linux from Win 7. Are you somehow getting patches for Win 7, or are you just hoping that you won't get hit with something nasty? (Or maybe taking other protective measures like VMs or something?)

Windows Defender still gets updated definitons (the only updates Windows 7 is getting).  I have got still supported Avast Premium Security.

My PC is behind up to date Mikrotik router.

Of course I use Linux on several virtual machines. My Windows are for desktop and gaming.

Even after Microsoft's harassment and dirty tricks to get people to upgrade to Windows 10, and the fact that you can still upgrade to Windows 10 for free, almost 1/4 of all Windows desktops are still Windows 7. I think some of those Windows 7 users have heard of Windows 10's reputation, haha. The bottom line is that I don't think Microsoft cares about Windows any more. That's not where the company makes the real money these days.
