has any1 found that if you play in a lot of proper tournaments outside of home at chess than when u get onto a flat screen on the computer you make more mistakes and it harder to interpret game?

i like to think of myslef as quite strong junior player but on chess.com my rating is low and i won't to be able to produce my results on the computer as I am in real life!!!!!

it strange and just wondered if any1 else had the same ideas and problem????

I personally use a real-life analysis board to avoid this problem. I can see what is going on a lot better with a 3d view and a 2d bird's eye view. You have a chess set don't you? Use your chess set instead of the provided analysis board, and you may do a lot better.

Chessboard is the answer

I do not notice a difference with seeing the board on the computer screen and on a real tournament chess board. I know many say they experience difficulty going between the two but for me it is not much of a problem.

I find it the other way round.  I guess cos I read books a lot and hardly analyse with a set.

i like playing on the screen better, you can not only carry ur games around w u, but u can find out ur rating easily and there are a lot of advantages that u wont get in real life games.
