I've never played a game where I won and lost near an exact 50%.

Is this normal? It just seems really odd.

Your near perfect equality of W and L is a bit unusual, but being about even is expected. Unless you really modify your settings, on this site you will play against people who are, on average, pretty close to your own rating. And that means you'll score about 50%.

Ok, that makes sense but it makes it very boring. The algorithm makes it where you can't progress unless you are truly exceptional. Yeah, I don't think this is for me. Thanks for the answer.

Let me add this: algorithms are making life in general mediocre. Good luck to everyone trying to play against that.

Almost even loss/win is a sign of good matchmaking: opponents not too weak, not too strong.

If you're playing people of your same skill level wouldn't you expect to win about 1/2 your games?

Lately you have lost a lot of games.

At one of these points, there was probably an instant where your number of games lost and number of games won were equal.

If I were to include the draws, however, the win rate will no longer be 50%.

Yeah, I have lost a lot lately because I am making no progress so it's frustrating. I would expect as more games are played I would expect to get better but it seems I am actually getting worse.

First of, BRUH, almost 3 years later and you are at 660 elo??? 🤣

Second, ye, I agree. 50% is so boring. T_T I'd prefer true random, lose 60 games to people better then me and win one with a...oooh wait. No, a lot of people would quit after 5 consecutive loses. Chess com is a business and needs to keep as many people as possible engaged, and feel good. You bought diamond, and are still here, their strategy works c:
