I would say the same thing if it was like a few days, but I've constantly thought about chess. Do i have to constantly study for the next few months just to get to 700?
600 level is NOT how it seems

Sometimes you lose games with zero blunders. And sometimes you win with several. Just the way it goes.

Depends on mental energy, the people you face. Depends on who is tilting and who is becoming a rising chess star.

I swear every time I play a match in rapid 10 minute 600 it is not like what you expect, I will make only one or two blunders and still lose?? I've heard of games at 900 having like 4 blunders in them, what the heck?

I know what you mean. I make one or two blunders in a game and still lose too! What the heck?

You're missing the fact that improvement in chess comes extremely slowly. It took me months of nonstop play to get to my level and most people still consider me a beginner. Be patient, be consistent with your puzzles and games, put maximum effort into every game, analyze every game after you finish, etc and the rating boost will come

And yeah, it took me several months and hundreds of games to get to 1500. You have to understand your mistakes and avoid making them again.

They play good, and suddenly blunder really strong. One thing I like about lower-rated players - they're not cheaters... almost certainly. right?

thank you for the encouragement. I decided to take a week off at the time and just do puzzles
long story short, ive won like 7 games in a row after going up like 200 points in puzzles. something just clicked i guess
If I played a 600, I’d know how to put the heat on to make them fold like a house of cards.
Same story if I played a 2000, their moves would consistently be better than mine due to a far deeper knowledge of the game.
“Tactics flow from a superior position” - Bobby Fischer
Or at your level it is more accurately put as “Blunders flow from an inferior position” -Broiled A. Rat
So in a game between two 600’s complications cause (even more) blunders.
They make more subtle mistakes (subtle from their perspective at least) such as two or three move tactical combinations or egregious positional failures all the time.
Get better at tactics and watch as your rating skyrockets. :)

Some blunders...
are worse than multiple blunders.
In one of my 2|1 games, I was completely losing after several blunders (ok, they were at least large "mistakes" in Chess.com evaluation) and I was simply living off the 1 second increment with under 5 seconds after every turn, until my opponent made a very honest, but huge, blunder which turned my game around (and even then I was not fully sure that I was winning). To be fair, near that point, he was equally in time trouble.
After the game, I had to check against Stockfish to realise that a king move, which appeared to protect a passed pawn to its promotion square, turned out to be a huge blunder (eval changed from like -7 to +8 for me).

Yea, I win 90% of the games that my opponent blunders in, but I dont really have a strategy for if they play perfectly yet. I guess thats more 1000 level..? Even if it is, doesnt hurt to prepare now
