700-800 cheaters

Hi, I'm just curious, is everyone cheating in the 700-800 elo range? because I swear, everyone is whipping the best moves out of their butts like its nothing. It was easier to beat my irl 2100 rated friend, and I can beat the advanced bots as well. Yet somehow, these kids put together some fancy moves and look ahead into a mate in 30. Mind boggling. And just curious

Yeah, 700 is secretly rated over 2100, that's why you can beat your friend but not chess.com people.

Relatedly, I'm secretly rated over 4000.

Hikaru is over 9000.

etc.

Also, and this is top secret pro strats, but one way to pump up your rating is to NOT resign in winning positions.

Another explanation is that you're just not that good at playing chess consistently through out the game: make some good moves, then blunder and then think that your true level is those good moves instead of the blunders.

It should be easier to test: start a new account with 1200 - 1500 rating so that you play mostly against people 1000+. If you suddenly win more often and keep your rating at 1200+ after more than 100 games, you were correct about cheaters. And no, if you start training harder and playing smarter and more serious with your new account then it just proves that you weren't playing serious enough before.

At that level, it's going to be very rare. If you feel someone used disallowed resources, you should report them.

That said, discussions about cheating, potential cheating, or cheat detection are not allowed in the general forums.
