I've been increasing steadily, rating-wise on chess.com for the past few months. But these days, I'm getting pretty obsessed. All I think about is chess. And what's more? It seems I've been making a lot of blunders recently that make me feel really bad.Is it time to take a break from chess? I just need some advice. I joined chess.com this year

A break for just a couple of weeks, or days

It won't hurt to have a break.

Couple of weeks sound fine.

I was finding exactly the same thing up to last week. I started playing here almost a year ago and have had 1 or 2 online games on the go since and I played blitz almost obsessively for the first few months. Then I started studying and keeping to online games. I can see and feel the improvement but recently I started to feel crappy about my games and making really big mistakes in them. I've had no games for a few days now and I feel better. You will, too. Take a break!

I know that feel, bro

@Skeleize... Haha....I hope I get over it soon

I could have started this thread. Absolutely take a break. Take multiple weeks. This game will drive you insane if you let it. You know that feeling when a lesser player just mates you and then you get another game started in haste only to have it happen again. Yea, take a break.
