A simple chess variant

Eseles

It's very simple, everything is exactly the same as in standard chess, except that the pawns' moving and taking directions are swapped. They move diagonally (forward-left or forward-right) and can take only ahead of them (one square only at a time as usual).

I must have read about this somewhere, and i think i played some such games some years ago, but i went through this Chess Variants wikipedia page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chess_variant) and didn't see it mentioned.

What do you think about it?

Have you ever tried it?

Is this variant available online?

I understand what you mean but you might want to edit that so people aren't confused.

And no, I have never heard of or played such a chess variant.

Edited, hope it's less confusing now

Thanks for your input :)

I entered here expecting lasers.

I leave disappointed.

We had an amazing hour of beautiful fireworks during the opening fiesta, but you were a bit late :/

Never!

I don't think so!

For Chess variants, it is better to look on chessvariants.org than on Wikipedia. The game you mention is known as Berolina Chess:
