You could play with blindfold pieces. That is about the closest you will get. You will have to click the starting square and the ending square to move the pieces.
A way to play by only seeing and entering moves notation

Hi!
I'm trying to get better at live (in person) chess. I'm wondering if there is a way to play (on this site, or any other site) where I will only see move notation, and only be able to move by entering notation. The idea would be for me to have a board in front of me where I would make my moves, and my opponent's moves. I don't care how my opponent sees the game.
Does that make sense?
Any help is greatly appreciated!

I play with a board in front of me. All it takes is the discipline of looking at the real pieces instead of the screen while you select your move.
I find that being able to see the board on the screen makes no difference if I play that way, because I'm only looking at it long enough to pick up my opponent's reply, and to enter my own with click-and-drag.
I also use a sound-cue to make sure I know when my opponent has moved; that way I don't need the distraction of watching.
But if you're a vid-kid, you may have trouble not watching the screen, and Stahl's advice seems pretty good. Just make real sure you pick the right squares on the board when there are no visual cues.
Either that, or take up blindfold chess all the way...
