How would one best practice to get ones accuracy up? I've just broken through 1000 and my accuracy is lacking at around50-60% and my opponents are around 60-80%

My top suggestion is that you should analyze the games where there are the same or similar openings and see what mistakes you made. Chances are, you might learn from those mistakes and when you play a certain position again, you won't make that mistake again. It doesn't have to be a singular move; it could be you hanging your dark-squared bishop on move 13 often while playing the Catalan (I've done that). Analyze every game you play and see your successes and mistakes, to put it in a sentence. You can also train against bots your level. Accuracy is how often you play the best move in certain positions or how well you assess the position in general (Threats, attacks, defense, captures etc). I hope you succeed, since your higher rated than I am.

FYI: Game Review recently added a new feature that allows you to approximate the ratings of players based on their accuracy in a game.

No, because accuracy is not a direct engine match percentage and is influenced by ratings.

A large percentage of member are going get between 70-90% in many of their games

My elo is 400 and my average blitz game accuracy is about 69% but when i play against bots its about 78% i usually play 5min blitz games bcs first time i tried 3min blitz game i was white and lost on time and when i analyzed the game stockfish said that it was 10 advantage when i lost on time if i was just a bit faster and wasn’t overthinking some move I would’ve won pretty easily

My Average Oppenent has a Accuracy of 85-92% and my Elo is only 769 so how does this fit?

So, there are stats out there, but it's a bit tricky as accuracy can vary from player to player. Generally, higher-rated players tend to be more accurate, but it's not just about the moves they make. It also depends on what their opponent throws at 'em. Ultimately, though, accuracy matters 'cause it can give you a good idea of how well someone's playin'. Keep rockin' that chessboard, my friend!

Wisely said, @sagittariuscraft. Hit 'em up and play 'em like a fiddle.

Rating is a big lie, it's made so you become premium and think that you are going to learn to be a better player..WATCH OUT!!!

the elo rating system was invented by Arpad elo and was adopted by the U.S. chess federation in 1960 and by FIDE in 1970. so no

Interesting recent blog along these lines from GM Kaufman

You guys have to understand that it is actually easier to score a higher accuracy at a lower Elo beacuse first of all the games tend to be alot shorter, but also the positions is alot easier to do right. Its alot harder to score a high accuracy at a higher level beacuse the positions is alot more complex and the best move is far from obvious alot of the times. But i would say in general a good game for 1600+ player would be around +80% accuracy and anything under 70% is mostly not a very good game.

Completing game reviews on my own Rapid games on chess.com, I found the mapping from accuracy to estimated rating to be inconsistent (it's not 1:1, deviating by some 50 or 100 rating points) but here are the ballpark figures from that analysis.

Accuracy --> Chess.com estimated rating

98% --> 2050

95% --> 2000

90% --> 1700

85% --> 1600

80% --> 1500

75% --> 1300

70% --> 1150 or 1200

65% --> 1000 or 1100

Again just a rough idea -- if I plotted all 130 points you'd see the noise!

To findur own cap here is worthless.

To use chess. Coms i mean. Because the function average accuracy on total game is down since 9 month back
