Agadmator is the the greatest chess player of all time

I think one of the main reasons why fischer's story is so famous is because it was an American beating the Soviet Union during the Cold War time. I think that is why many people have heard about it. So it was partly because of his nationality.

By this logic, I would offer that Anand is the greatest chess player of all time. He is a national hero, and possibly the most popular sportsman in a country of over a billion people.

Actually he is not the most popular sportsman. Cricket players are much more well known in India than Chess players. It is true that him being the world champion did boost chess popularity in India but I still think Agadmator did that better.
Just my two cents

I think you're confusing "guy that I like" or "guy that introduced me to chess" for "guy that made the world love chess"

I don't know who "agadmator" is, and to be honest, I do not care, either.
From what I've seen he's some ~2000 rated player who has an above average production value for his analysis videos... of course watching a ~2000 player analyze famous GM games is not so entertaining no matter the hardware, but a lot of beginners seem to like him.

Said the guy who is basically 2000 rated.🙄
(And exclusively plays ~ 2000 rated opponents)

Well, yeah, that's why I know he's garbage, because when I listen to him analyze he seems about the same strength as me.
Why the hell would I want to listen to someone as good as me lecture me? I can tell when he's BSing, or using an engine, or just guessing, etc.

I'm not here to impress anyone.
If I were, I would play until my win/loss ratio reached about 50%, meaning I'd hit my peak rating.
I'd also play often enough that I get some lucky days where my rating is boosted 100-200 points.
As it is, I stop at 2100 on purpose because I feel like that's pretty close to where I should be rated.
I used to stop at 2000 whenever I'd make a new account, but it was getting too easy.

You don't know your actual strength, because you deliberately and exclusively play lames.
Of course it's easy to maintain a certain win/loss ratio if you only play once a month against opponents rated 200 points below you.
If you actually competed against equal players you would quickly plummet to what I believe to be your true rating, which is probably along the 2000 lines.

Ok, well, I'm not here to impress you, so I don't care what you think lol.
I don't choose my opponents by the way. I only change 2 options when I make a new account:
1) always promote to queen
2) enable premoves
Other than that I just do the basic seek and play whoever chess.com gives me.

You don't have to impress anybody, but just don't be disillusioned by your unrealistic and flawed expectations of your strength in comparison to actual chess players who compete against viable opponents.
You haven't played an actual game of chess since you were 2000 rated. That's probably the main reason why you are so utterly afraid of playing Kibi, because you know you'll be exposed.
Hello everyone and welcome to a discussion on the greatest chess player of all time. Now this question pops up quite a lot in these forums. Names like Carlsen, Morphy, Fischer, Kasparov and Capablanca gets thrown around quite a lot.
But I think this question needs to be viewed at a different angle. Instead of the person who can play the best chess, what if the greatest chess player is the one that popularizes the game itself? The spectators are the only reason why top grandmasters can make a living out of chess.
So if the greatest chess player of all time is one who can bring chess to a wider audience, then Agadmator would certainly be the one. With a subcount of over half a million, he is certainly the most popular chess content creator right now.(Please correct me if I am mistaken, but I don't know anyone who gets as much views as him) He makes the games of elite grandmasters interesting and understandable for an average viewer.
So what do you guys think? Agree? Disagree? Share your opinions down below.
Thank you all and have an excellent rest of your day.
