Alcohol and chess

What is your experience with alcohol and chess? In some countries, it is usual to have a beer or whiskey within the game or drink Kava at the Philippines for example. But while it slows reactions and speed of thought, it seems to be bad. A friend of mine plays way slower and unconcentrated, after he had alcohol the evening before.

It you are very thight and stressed, it might be helpful, but usually? What is your experience?

No, it's just a regional brand that's been around since 2007. But it does improve my chess!

Acromiton

I once played a gentleman I suspected was intoxicated. My suspicion proved right as he vomited on the board. I do however have the occasional grog when playing at home

My experience is that alcohol has never benefited me in anyway because I was born with no talent for drinking.
