Almost 2000 in Puzzles but < 600 in Rapid

Hello,  since I have diamond and I can solve as many puzzles I want, I feel that puzzle rating is too biased. I was trying to see some conversions and they were recommending 300-1000 points discrepancy.

Though I am losing easily from players with 600+ rating. I guess I don't know a lot of theory, openings, midgame and endgame, do very bad mistakes during games.

So basically, is puzzle rating useless? or it can say something? Note that puzzles have no time limit and every time there is a very small amount of moves that make sense. Also the puzzle commentary makes things easier (can you find a way to end the game?).

looking for advice to grow, ideally I would like to hit around 1000+ in rapid.

Puzzle rating is very inflated. I have a rapid rating of 1400 and 2300+ puzzle rating (my record was above 2500).

Curious do you have unlimited puzzles or you reached that level by just the daily limit?

#3 look at my profile. You can see: it's diamond. I reached it with my diamond subscription

Same here. I think it's because with puzzles around 2000 ELO you know that there's a decisive move to be made (often putting the opponent in check or capturing a hanging piece) so you only need to look for those rather than things like development or defensive strategy.

Also, you rarely see the patterns you get in puzzles in actual games. Almost like the puzzles are from textbooks to illustrate a clean and satisfying situation without the scrappiness of actual chess

99 percent of puzzles come from actual games. It's true that a puzzle highlights the decisive tactical moment of a game, but that moment does appear in almost every game.

The real solution is very simple, and that's what Fetorenczi said. Puzzle ratings are overrated for anyone who cares to solve them (rather than just quickly guess some random move).

For example, Hikaru is 3300 is blitz and 3900 in puzzles. And he'd be much higher but he rarely does puzzles.

Yes. Do not compare the puzzle rating with the game rating
