Why do I keep getting that message when I try to do the Tactics trainer?

Conflagration_Planet

Has it happened to you?

planeden

 Yes, that one.

planeden

not overly helpful is it?   anyway, i have never gotten that.  i suppose you have tried the standard clearing cache type stuff.  i think TT is java based so you may want to see if there is an update for that.  beyond that i will be of no assistance.

perhaps you should move this to help and support, or contact chess.com directly.

Probably because an error has occurred.

Next time try telling people what browser & OS you were using. You could also try using a different browser and see if the problem still occurs, after clearing the cache in your default browser, which you should be doing routinely anyway.

Standard troubleshooting procedures include clearing the cache, closing and re-opening the same browser; rebooting the PC; using a different browser, and posting tech questions in the Help & Support forum.

Or reporting help and support issues directly to staff via "Help & Support".

I believe that the error you are refering to is user error 1337.

Microbe is usually right.  He knows his stuff on this site.

I'll bet an error occurred too.

possibly the error was in the user not deleting cache or using a web browser that doesn't work well all the time with this site.

I don't have problems using firefox, and have heard chrome works fine too.   But I still find occasional errors - and after I delete cache and browsing history, clears the problems just fine.

regards,

I'll give it try, though I'm pretty computer illiterate. I'm using IE 8.

and download and install the webbrowser.  it is free, safe and works fine with chess.com

that may help with most problems, although you still need to clear cache and history occasionally (once a week is good)  it certainly will help if you play live chess online here.

How do you clear the cache?

I don't use IE8, but look under tools, internet options...

Thanks. I installed Firefox once, and it caused the computer to run VERY slow.
