No... I get my hopes up every time a new chess movie comes out but everything since Knight Moves has been steaming piles of poo and huge disappointments. I think Pawn Sac will be a flop.

Why are ppl negative ? We are adults and we know that Hollywood sucks. But it's just cool to have anything chess related. Life of a King wasn't the best film but it had a story and chess. Fisher's story which is chess plus a film involving chess equals a good time.
It doesn't matter whether the movie sucks or not. The more people are exposed to chess, the bigger the potential talent pool and the amount of funding available for events. Any chess related production is good news.

It might be an interesting film as well. Time will tell.
No, when it's crappy and makes chess look foolish and stupid, like this movie will, it is not good exposure.

I'm planning on seeing it, on DVD or streaming if not at the theater (assuming my town even runs it, which may be doubtful).
I've actualy enjoyed most of the chess movies I have watched. The most recent one I watched, A Little Game (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2276480/), really wasn't that great but wasn't completely terrible 
I will torrent it when it becomes available.
I for one can not wait... Simply bc it's chess and Bobby Fischer .
