Hi Everyone,

I'm pretty new to chess and would like to improve my chess game a tremendous amount. I just ran across ICS and was wondering if it was worth taking the course? My rating on Chess.com is a little over 550, is this course something that can push me up higher?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Thanks for the advice BorgQueen. I will begin my studies and play as much as I can. What book would you recommend for someone like me to get my tactical skills up?

OP's been gone for ten months. I guess he gave up.

Op's been gone 3 months. It doesn't appear to have helped him.

Do you guys think the ICS would help to improve for a player of about 2000-2100 FIDE? I was thinking about it, but I am not so sure... Some friends have told me that it's more aimed for players of around 1500-ish...

Try Chess Magnet School.

Im a member ICS.  Its like anything else.  You get out of it what you put into it.  If you put in thr effort, then yes it will help.  But as BorgQueen pointed out.  Its not a magic pill/Get Good Quick tool.

I bought the gm course but I just can't stand the video speaker. The videos waste so much time. They could be done in less than half of that time by someone with even a decent command of English.
