Hello all! So I started playing chess a couple of months ago, and just love it. I had a question about the process of choosing the best move... Usually I have a good eye for stuff, but I am looking for a better routine for picking a move.
When I played golf, I was instructed to do the SAME EXACT thing before each shot. Look down the green, practice swing, hit the ball. Is there a "pre-move routine", similar to that of a sport like golf. Like, do you always do the same thing before making a move in chess?
It seems like I make sure I can't lose any piece, make sure they are all defended, and then look at their position to find weakness, then make a move.
If any more experienced players could give some insight on this, I would be GREATLY appreciative!!!
