Anyone else sad Pogo Chess is gone?

Pogo in general was huge back in the day. It was their chess game that started to kinda get me into here though. I was a kid so I was kinda garbage at it, but we all start somewhere ig

I still do this, albeit on this website. Lol

I can now always remember my first successful queen sac, as simple and obvious as it was

I played at Pogo a lot. I remember that they allowed players to connect a program, so you could play many cheaters. At Pogo, bridge was even worse, since they allowed people to have two logins that could look at all of their side’s cards.

in retrospect, it is kind of quaint to remember how poor the early engines were. I started playing 5-minute games there. Then, when the engines could beat me at that time control, I shifted to 3-minute games. When the engines could beat me at that speed, I moved down to 2-minute and later to 1-minute games. When the engines could beat me at that speed, I quit Pogo.

my pogo user name was something like xxxmikewxxx.

I miss the old Pogo games! They really need to bring back the classics like Wonderland Memories, Perfect Pair Solitaire, Hog Heaven Slots, etc. The new experience is nice, but I wouldn't be able to keep up with everything if it wasn't for the Pogo Fans website.
