Anyone use Chess Assistant?

If someone could guide me thru it via IM or e-mail I'd be very appreciative!

I use it for all my work and prep, and many of my students do too. It has the most features, but takes time to master. Overall it is the best program around, but you need to right-click a lot to see your options.

Thanks Mr. Schiller.  I was wondering if perhaps you could give me a lesson or two and help me make the most use of the Convekta software I have?

You ever travel down the California coast?  I'm near Ventura, about an hour and a half north of LA.

I wish they had actual videos about using Chess Assistant. Steve Lopez has made some for Chess King (same Russian company), but Chess Assistant still offers only "videos" that are little more than PDF files with very little animation. Very boring to try to follow. Might have been okay 20 years ago, but we're used to better now.

I have CA 12...too freakin counterintuitive...it's a positional database, Chessbase is more normal.

Cornfed, we have agreement - "counterintuitive" is my favorite word for describing CA. I had 8 and 9, and now have 17, and am seeing why I skipped so many in between.  ChessBase just makes more sense to me. OTOH, I've been using that for quite a while., so that does give it an unfair advantage, so to speak.

For those others asking what Chess Assistant is, it's probably the main commercial competition to ChessBase. CB is from a German company, while CA is from a Russian Company. If you've seen the ads for Chess King recently, that's the same company's answer to CB's Fritz, or approximately that, IMHO.
