Those ratings that they give on the mobile app are crazy. Level 16( who is supposed to be 2000) constantly blunders pawns in the opening and I can beat comfortably. I would reduce all the ratings in that list by 500

MartySmith100

I can easily beat level 5, but I get crushed at level 6, so since I am rated in the 1200-1300 range, based on that I assume level 5 plays about 1200, and level 6 plays about 1400.

On Android phones the chess.com app computer opponent has 20 levels.  I did some matches between my Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite phone and my desktop running on an i7-8700 cpu (12 cores).  Here's some of the results I got:

It took my phone's level 11 to defeat desktop level 5.  It also defeated desktop level 6 but lost to desktop level 7.

Phone level 12 (1850) beat desktop level 7. 94.7 accuracy vs 71.3 accuracy
Phone level 12 lost to desktop level 8. 36.4 accuracy vs 96.5 accuracy
phone level 13 (2000) lost to desktop level 8. 77.6 accuracy vs 96 accuracy
phone level 14 (2150) lost to desktop level 8. 82.1 accuracy vs 97.7
phone level 15 (2300) lost to desktop level 8. 94 accuracy vs 97.7
phone level 16 (2450) drew desktop level 8. 98.5 vs 98.8
phone level 16 beat desktop level 8. 98.5 vs 85.9
phone level 16 lost to desktop level 9. 97.7 vs 98.5
phone level 17 (2600) lost to desktop level 9. 98.6 vs 98.7
phone level 18 (2750) drew desktop level 9. 98.4 vs 98.9
phone level 18 drew desktop level 9. 98.5 vs 99.2
phone level 18 drew desktop level 9. 99 vs 97.9
phone level 18 beat desktop level 9. 98.3 vs 93.1
phone level 18 lost to desktop level 10. 98.7 vs 99.4
phone level 19 (2900) lost to desktop level 10. 96.2 vs 99.2                                                              phone level 20 (3000+) lost to desktop level 10. 98 vs 99.4

Out of curiosity I had Leela Chess Zero running on my RTX 2800 with Sergio net 3180 face off against  desktop level 10.  Lc0 SV 3180 easily crushed desktop level 10.  99.4 accuracy vs 99.2

My apologies, I should have made it clearer.  The 3180 refers to the LC0 network developed by a contributor named Sergio, released on March 22 of this year.  You can download it at his website:

https://www.comp.nus.edu.sg/~sergio-v/t60/384x30/

You would also need the LC0 engine which you can get here:

http://lczero.org/play/download/

The 3180 net is considered by some to be among the strongest networks available.  Running on an RTX 2080 it probably plays close to 3500 elo.  Yes the 99.4 accuracy was for Leela.  If you're interested here's the game between LC0 3180 vs chess.com desktop level 10:

It doesn't say and it probably depends on your hardware because when you're playing against it you can see that it's using your cpu.  On my pc level 10 is probably between 2900-3100, I'm assuming it's using Stockfish 10.  It'd be much higher if it would play slower, it only thinks for a few seconds on each move.

i actually think it might not be stockfish 10. reason why being that when he u play a weaker version here, it takes time to make its moves, meaning that a stronger version might need to take even more time, while, instead, the moves are semi instantaneous.

ahmadhamednayab

I have defeated the level 10 of computer if any body knows how much is its ELO

sndeww

nah computer levels change strength depending on how powerful your processor is.

sadeefgaming

I think my rating is around 1800 since I can beat the level 7 bot easily.

The best way to know your rating is to play some games against humans. Computers tell you nothing

KennethBrent

I am a very poor player.  I made an account a month or so ago and can't beat level 5.

According to Chess.com (https://support.chess.com/article/211-what-rating-is-the-computer-on-chess-com)

A rough estimation of the strength. The lowest setting can be said to be roughly around 800 strength. The highest is around 2200. The levels in between move up at a rate of around 150 per level. So the levels might look something like this:

  1. 800
  2. 950
  3. 1100
  4. 1250
  5. 1400
  6. 1550
  7. 1700
  8. 1850
  9. 2000
  10. 2150

These are only estimations and the strength can not be pinpointed with any accuracy, since this computer doesn’t play rated games. But you can use this as a guide to decide what range of levels you want to use!

Chessthefacts

I have been playing the Droidfish engine which of course lets you set the ELO rating level on my Galaxy S10, and was able to win or draw - as white - up to 1800 after which it got significantly tougher. I am probably about 1400-1600 strength per last rated master I played, so was surprised to get that far. All these engines seem beatable until you get to a tipping point where they give you nothing and crush you on any positional or tactical errors. SaId tipping point varies greatly per app or per engine.
