It would be an honor and a great opportunity to discuss ideas behind the moves that Lucario would make, as well as fictional grandmasters he plays against. I imagine Simon Williams being my consultant for giving Lucario some clever attacking ideas against his opponent's king.
Are consultation with chess grandmasters recommended for writers that write a chess game?

Guys, hello? I need a response here.
If you want to consult with a GM, you'll need to pay for their time.

Of course, as long as the prices are reasonable of course.

Well, perhaps you can try here:
https://www.chess.com/coaches
What you ask is pretty specific, so you might specify beforehand to them what do you need.

I'll have to try. Though, I wish I'm looking for the best grandmaster coach, or at least a grandmaster coach who's an aggressive player.

Well, I don't know what exactly do you need, though you might probably be surprised how much even the weakest GM knows about the game. It is like asking a very good scientist about his field. I mean for some things you might need a top 10 scientist but in 99.99% cases this will not be necessary. Perhaps any master level player will do.
As for the best GM coach, well he probably gets to choose his rates and who does he want to work with. For instance, some coaches will not work with anyone below FIDE master level (I've seen that on someone's page). By the way, some of the most recognized chess authors and coaches weren't even GMs but International masters (like Dvoretsky for instance). In general better player doesn't necessarily mean better coach. Have that in mind as well.
But I am sure that you will eventually find what you need in any case.
So I was wondering if consultation with chess grandmasters recommended for writers that have to write a chess game that is played between grandmasters. Since I've heard that the Netflix series called Queen's Gambit had Garry Kasparov as a consultant for the chess scenes, I was wondering if I might ask some for consultations.
For example, let's say that I'm a chess amateur, I know some openings, tactics, strategies etc. and I wanna write Lucario, a Pokemon that relys on aura and telepathy, as a chess grandmaster who plays against other grandmasters.
I wanna make sure that the moves he plays don't come across as amateurish, nothing moves or moves that have no purpose at all, and especially amateurish blunders. So, if possible, is there a way to consult with a chess grandmaster? If so, is it usually free or does it cost money?
Because I was thinking about creating games for Lucario against fictional chess grandmasters on the chess.com analysis, with annotations for moves and ideas, as well for fanfiction stories that involve Lucario becoming a grandmaster.
