I just started playing "5D Chess With Multiverse Time Travel" for $11.99 on Steam. If you've got some spare time, it's worth checking out.

While the visual presentation is no frills, it is easy to maneuver the boards and perspectives. I had a fun time zooming in and out, checking out the history of my matches as time slices. I will admit, having just started fiddling with it today, I have a way to go in understanding the rules, particularly how the pieces change positions on the boards when they move across time (slices/boards) and create alternate timelines (boards).

Important to note: The AI isn't great at normal chess and will not play normal opening moves. Also, I'm just some dude in no way affiliated with the game or its makers.

From a review from the site:

"It begins like normal.

Then you get your opponent in a corner.

They time travel their King into the past to save it. This creates an alternate reality where they have two Kings.

So maybe you send your Queen back in time to kill him, like The Terminator. Well, this also creates an alternate dimension.

Eventually you get to a point where you can see the future and send pieces back but you also have three Kings to protect now and oh no, they can be checkmated from across dimensions. Yes, your King looks safe all castled and cozy in Dimension 12 but your opponent discovers that square is safe and empty in Dimension 3, so they send someone back in time before your King went there and checkmate it before you've arrived."
