Armageddon: White or Black?

In an armageddon play-off with 5 minutes for white and 4 for black... You win the draw of lots, do you choose white or black? Bearing in mind black only needs a draw to win the tie-breaker...

The time controls isnt safe for black to just get a drawish game so I rather have white

My style would be suited for black here. I'm not at all sure that black is the correct choice for every player at my level though. Probably white for some.

At the pro level, IIRC, black is considered to be favored, although they tweak the time controls now and then. For example in the Carlsen - Karjakin match, this is the first time I've heard of increment being used after move 60.

Black, I prefer defending rather than attacking.

Just a general objection: in absence of a proof that 5-4 time split is equitable, it should be assumed that it is not, and that the conditions favor one of the players (it is irrelevant whether or not the player, who has the choice, can discern which side is better off). Therefore, the conditions as stated are inherently unfair.

One possible fair procedure for an armageddon game is: given that white has 5 minutes, one player proposes what he thinks to be fair time for the black to have. The other player picks which color to play. Neither can consider this unfair.

Another possible fair procedure: both player should propose the fair time for black, so that they would not care which color to play in the resulting time split. Whoever proposed a longer time will play white, and the time for the black will be the average of both proposals. If the proposed times are equal, a coin toss decides who plays what color.

Example: player A likes 5-4 time split, while player B likes 5-3.  Player A will play white, and player B will play black, with 3.5 minutes given to black. Player A should be happy (the opponent has less time than A would want for himself). Player B should be also happy (he has more time than he was willing to take). In a way, both players start with an advantage compared to their proposals.

I am pretty certain I've seen these ideas used in some tournaments...

Black because it makes it so taht you don't havcve to keep atacking and can just trade peaces of the board
