Basic-King/Queen Setup

The queens are always on their own color. Also, the light colored square is always on the right hand side. Make sure you are identifying the king and queen right. I have not seen any board set up with the pieces on the wrong squares here.
OK, so the icon with the five-pointed crown sitting in the D row is the queen? While the icon with the rounded crown and the cross on top sitting in the E row is the king?
yes, the king has a cross to channel lightning thru his body back to eart. the queen is not so lucky. but yah, you are right.
OK, I am relatively new to chess and I was taught that the queen always went in her color space. But I noticed just trying to play the online game that the computer put the kings in their same color spaces, but the queens are in the opposite color spaces. I'm confused. Is the board set up two different ways?
