Beating bots higher than my elo.

I started playing online chess a few days ago and it has been going alright. However, I was surprised to find that I'm unable to reach an elo over 1200. I beat bots that are 1600+ and have even beat the Coach David bot that has an elo of 2000. Why am I able to beat such high elo bots, but I can't consistently win over 1000-1200 elo players? Has anyone else had this experience, and does anyone have any explanations?

I am not sure, but i think that this is because real life average players dont play with a specific way, in contrast with the bots, which are coded to play in some special way

Thanks for the answer. I'll look into it. Have you had this experience too?

Yeah, this has happened to me, I'm 1200 and I'm beating bots over 1500 but I can't seem to keep winning online games.

generally bots are weaker than their given elo is. when you review the game, on the bottom of the analysis you can see an estimate of what chess.com would give your and your enemy's rating (in this case the bot) although I think it's PC only. Anyways, the bot usually gets a way worse rating, sometimes even only half the rating it actually has
