You play more games for the same amount of time, so probably you can learn more patterns quicker and learn to avoid common silly mistakes?
ps. I am also a beginner so don’t take it like a fact.

I learned how to play quickly by playing bullet. I also quickly learned that blitz is better, but anyhow, bullet helped me learn how to make not awful moves quickly.
If you get checkmated in bullet or blitz it's an even faster game. Blitz or 10/0 is a good way to practice openings and get an impression of how certain openings play out. For beginners bullet is of doubtful utility, being the chess equivalent of word salad.
Absolutely terrible for beginners if they want to improve....play 10min games and play blitz only when u want to just have fun....stay away from bullet tho,it ruins ur game
I agree.
If you are a beginner you are basically learning nothing playing bullet and blitz, some like to play it because they think it is good because for some people you can get a higher rating than your rapid. But if you play rapid and learn while playing or study and play with tactics that is important, because you are learning instead of just playing random pieces to tell your friends, "Hey my rating in bullet is 1500!" And if they ask what is your rapid you'll probably be embarrassed if it is low compared to your bullet and blitz, it then shows you probably don't know too much. So bullet and blitz is not suggested for beginners.
To continue, once I had played a bullet game and it was around a 700 elo game (I believe) and I was able to scholars mate my opponent meaning they probably had a low rapid and was just playing bullet for their rating. Again bullet and blitz I wouldn't recommend for beginners.
When I was around a 300 rating for rapid I was mainly just playing bullet, but now I have learned my lesson to focus on my rapid and then try to play bullet occasionally. But now focusing my rapid games my rapid rating is now a 800-900 rating. SO PLAY RAPID and try avoiding bullet and blitz for a bit.
Anyone could get scholars mated in bullet, if they don't pay attention and try to just move the pieces as fast as possible.
@CrunchyMiel 1500 bullet is not just moving random pieces, believe me. But I agree bullet is bad for beginners, generally.

Yes, with just randomly moving pieces, you might be able to get a 300-700 rating.
Playing blitz and bullet games in chess can offer several benefits. These fast-paced formats improve time management skills, decision-making under time pressure, and the ability to calculate and recognize tactical patterns quickly. They also enhance intuition and instinctive play, as players rely more on their chess intuition without excessive calculation. Additionally, playing blitz and bullet helps develop psychological resilience and the ability to handle pressure. It allows for testing and refining opening repertoire and preparation. However, it's important to balance playing faster formats with slower games for deeper analysis and positional understanding.
(' bout stuff)
Nah...neither of those forms of chess are very useful for "training" as a beginner. Blitz does offer a chance to rapidly practice a specific opening. but neither blitz or bullet offer much as far as skill building. The rest of what you state is doubtful. What improves skills as a beginner/intermediate player, is targeted practice and study.

Thats why the military never rotates units out of combat zones, because getting shelled 24/7,indefinately,is how you build up mental toughness.

Yeah, I think that it's fine and most advisable to just ignore blitz and bullet as a beginner. As my friend put it, it's just like in music where you should practice slow to be able to be accurate when fast. Like, I'm pretty unsure that bullet has helped me at recognizing tactical patterns quickly; p sure settings where I can actually think have helped me much more with that.
That said, I play bullet because it's fun, and I can get a decent rating when I try (not on this account atm haha), and it's a good way to play trash games when I feel like I can't invest into a full rapid.
Hi. A beginner here.
We all know the disadvantages of blitz and bullet, especially for newcomers beginners.
But how about the benefits?
