... Best Larsen’s Bent Games of Chess.
That book has been re-released ...
The games seemed mostly straight to me.

The smother mate exercises that my students are doing this week include a nice win by Bent Larsen over Larry Evans.

2 wins by Larsen over Evans:
I used the first.
Larsen is still one of the greats of Chess even if he never got to play for World Championship and was on losing end of some tough matches. Only one person gets to play the world champion so it's tough.
Here is larsen's opening you can see top players adopting it including Magnus Carlsen : https://www.chessonly.com/larsen-opening/

And 1. b3 is still a move which works against opponents of my rating plane, and I employ it semi-regularly. At the very least, it surprises Black.

Why do people resurrect old threads? It's been happening a lot lately
I've resurrected threads that came up in an internet search.
A better question: why do some people think a thread must be fresh to be relevant or interesting?
"A better question: why do some people think a thread must be fresh to be relevant or interesting?"
No, that's not a better question. It's not even a good question.

"A better question: why do some people think a thread must be fresh to be relevant or interesting?"
No, that's not a better question. It's not even a good question.
It's an excellent question to ask of anyone who inquires about thread resurrection. If the question in a thread merits attention, it does not expire.
I think it is helpful to know if a discussion has concluded months or years ago. One can tell from the dates if one notices, but it is easy to not notice if resurrection only happens once in awhile. I like to provide a little extra notice of resurrection.
"Bent it like Larsen" starring harika dronavalli and Natalia pogonina. Fabio Caruana plays their chess coach and love interest. Vishy anand plays dronavalli's dad who hates chess. Any takers?

Some GM made the comment back around 1970, and I'm paraphrasing, "Larsen uses Medieval weapons in his games, but most grandmasters today don't know how to fight against them."
Larsen championed openings like what was called the "Larsen-Santasiere Sicilian," now called the "Grand Prix" for some reason: 1 e4 c5 2 f4.
His games tended to be open, full of tactics, and exciting.
He was an inspiration to me when I coached a high school team and showed them the Bishop's Opening in the 1990's when it had been out of favor for 60 years. I chose it because it's relatively easy for White to plan a King-side attack, often after O-O-O and because none of our opponents would know it. We rode that opening to many County and State team trophies - then Kasparov played it and everyone started studying it again.
But we had the kind of edge Larsen had because he steered many of his games into unusual variations of which he was more familiar than his opponents.
i wish i could get the book Best Larsen’s Bent Games of Chess.
That book has been re-released--with some additional content--by New in Chess publishing under the title "Bent Larsen's Best Games." Same great Larsen annotation! It's available at Amazon
