Best Chess Resources? (Software, Websites, Books, etc.)

I've come close to my 1-year mark of playing chess (mostly here at Chess.com - Yay!  Cool  I love this site!!!!).

Still a relative newbie, however, and wondering what the next step could be for learning more about chess, developing a more serious game, and having tools for improvement.

In particular, can you guys give me some suggestions of the top chess resources I can look to for use:

Books

DVD's

Software

Websites (other than Chess.com, of course Wink)

***And anything else you can think of!

Thanks so very much!  And best of luck to you guys in your games!!!

Since you've already had a pleasant experience playing on this site, why not explore the educational resources available here with a diamond membership?  You want books?  ChessMentor is essentially one giant interactive book.  You want DVD?  All kinds of video here; a lot of members (including myself) would pay just for IM Danny Rensch's live sessions.  You want software?  The opening explorer gives access to a decent database without the steep learning curve.  Best $100 I spend all year.
