Hello all,

I was looking for opinons as to what chess program was best for learning. I consider myself an itermediate player.

chessmaster, fritz?

Any help would be fantastic.

Chessmaster is a good start.  Fritz is also good (I have both), but I would recommend starting with Chessmaster.

I have Fritz and Chessmaster...Chessmaster definitely is better for less advance players.

For beginners Chessmaster for sure. Fritz is crap for beginners.

I have Chessmaster and it helps, that is you get until up to a certain skill level

at what rating would you say chessmaster stops being useful

Probably around 2000.

Chessmaster has some difficult academies for beginners/intermediate players, but the challenges are... well... less challenging for people over 2000.

I am certainly NOT rated that high, but my friends who are get bored.

Depends on what you are using it for. If you are using it for the tutorials it probably ends somewhere at class C players. If you are using it to play against the computer probably alot higher.
