running improves cardiovascular strength and has helped me to get better at chess. it also increases physical stamina and, if done properly, can help with breathing cycles and nervousness
It's been proven that exercise is good for you entirely; blood pressure, stamina, memory, etc.
I highly recommend you watch your sodium intake !! Keep it below 1000 mg per day. High sodium can mess with you.
l always retain chess videos while I'm actually walking on the treadmill as I watch the videos.
What type of exercise ?? I recommend cardio, and light weights with 15 to 20 reps. Working out 4 days a week, for 1 hour will give you 4 hours of exercise per week. Hey !! That's better than nothing, and you're NOT over training.
aa-ron 1235 is correct. There are great breathing techniques that can help you fully relax, create better blood flow and help you focus. Look at YouTube and find what works for you with deep breathing and meditation.
Simply push-ups does the trick. Or run on a treadmill.
I'd love to have a treadmill!
I personally swim a lot, it helps with cardio and controling breathing, and I try to do some yoga about a hour before a game, which also helps control breathing.
Good question.

Hello, everyone.
I hear many chess players talk about the importance of physical stamina during games, and I know that many top players are prioritizing that these days.
What exercises would you advise for training for chess tournaments? Advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
