Hello my friend! I have to tell you, that playing blitz is much more difficult than playing normal chess . You don't have much time, so you force a lot of things that maybe you shouldn't...you can't calculate as more accurate as you would in longer game...There's a big time pressure. How i learned to play blitz is by practice! over 40 000 games learned me how i should play to get advantage in current position and how i shouldn't play because i let my oponnent to get counterplay. on the other hand it is always worth to see some master's games from current tournament. Not even to wonder "why did he make this move", just to watch, and if you see many games when in current position masters played f.e. on queenside, then in your own blitz game , when you will get similar position you would start playing just like them without even thinking of it. I think it's good to depend on intuition, because of time pressure. Anyway, im only 2200 player, but i think that practice, practice and one more time practice helps you to be stronger!
Blitz vs Real chess

@tigerche . What other ratings? .I don't mean to be an asshole as well , but If you didn't notice the words "general understanding" , then you need to repair your reading skills .

I don't believe chess.com counts other sites or OTB games that he may have played. Although, ya, 40,000 might be a slight exaggeration.
My chess understanding is pretty good , but my blitz is not really as strong as my general understanding . How to play blitz as strong as I understand chess in general?
