...and something else. I've never said his chess was not to be respected (albeit unimaginative). And I've never judged him from the way he acted....on or off the board. I'm just saying he's not to be respected for his so-called "creative" play and contribution....cuz he was a blip on the screen when it comes to chess contribution.
Bobby Fischer Lacked Creativity ?....How Dare I !

...and his stoopid write-up about the King's Gambit showed his naive outlook at how rich that opening is. He just couldn't see it deep enuf 'cuz he didn't have the creative skill set....they say.

You can be sure that Magnus regards him as creative, since that is a requirement to have such respect from the highest rated player of all time. I believe he disagrees with you also in saying "it's impossible not to like his chess".
But MC never said he was creative. The highest rated player in the world is a computer....and they're not creative AT ALL.
See where your logic goes out the window ?....again ?
Every original move is creative. This includes yours.
That being said, the aim of chess is NOT to be creative. It would be a very poor chess player who aimed to be creative at the cost of getting worse results. The aim is to win and winning is helped by playing objectively very good moves. The entire role of creativity is to find good moves in new positions. Fischer excelled at this, finding very good moves in new positions to a standard that made him world champion. As it happens, his games are unusually interesting as well: I have played through them all when I was a more active chess player.
That being said, if you prefer creative moves to good moves, I suggest you watch some of the low-rated games on chess.com. The level of creativity can be extraordinary, unconstrained by objective quality.

Much is made of Fischer’s love of the old-timers, but curiously, the exhibition game Fischer-Andersson, Siegen 1970, the idea of Kh1, Rg1, g4 is praised (Garry Kasparov – Fischer’s rare independent opening/middlegame invention!)
....GK knows 'cuz GK was way better than BF.

Just to be clear, computers are creative, in that they sometimes play good moves that are rather surprising. Alphazero demonstrated an exception level of creativity, and somehow its creativity is more appealing than thst of Stockfish, although this may be a mixture of genuine difference in style and our knowledge that AlphaZero taught itself chess starting with no knowledge except the rules.

Anand once said in an interview that chess engines fundamentally changed the way professional players prepare for their games. Humans only consider human moves. But with the help of computers players also examine the "crazy" moves noone would ever consider. In the end everything is calculation when it comes to sharp position and variations.
