Brain Chemistry of Chess Players

It would be interesting to see tests done on the brain when someone plays chess. It would be cool to see which parts of the brain are activated, how brain activity of people of different playing strengths and playing style compare, and whether age and years of experience play roles in brain chemistry. Once it’s figured out, maybe learning chess can be used as prevention or treatment for certain neurological disorders.

there have been some fMRI scans of chess players and a number of peer reviewed studies on its effects. quite fascinating reads!
