Bullet Chess-Bad or Good?

Many people play bullet chess. But is it good for you?

Argument for Yes: It helps quick decision making in time-trouble-something that has helped me in longer time controls.

Argument for No:It encourages quick decision making-and has caused me some headaches from playing too much bullet.

Pleasegive not only our opinion but state facts to support your argument. Thanks!

1/0 bullet is bad. 2/1 bullet is still quite ok... The former depends on your connection/mouse/luck/wiles. Very little chess skill involved. The latter is more like real chess except in time scrambles once the time gets low. Bullet chess forces you to search for tactics fast, and strategize on the spot. So it depends a lot on what kind of bullet chess we are talking about.

Hmmmmn - If you ask me I think bullet can be bad or good depending on what you want to acheive. If you want to improve your analytical thought stick to longer time controls but for some intuition go with bullet..............................

Bullet chess messes me up bad so I quit playingit. Butthis is a board game. If a person has more fun playing bullet, it can not be bad for them

Not bad or good. It's both good and bad depending on the situation . For  beginner players bad because it does not give much time to think . For GMs and other high rated players that have a very good sense of intuition already it's just a nice way to test openings and have fun .

bullet  chess can urge you to faster desicions in long games though.

It really is great for time trouble.  People who never play blitz or bullet (although rare these days) have difficulty "turning off" their analysis, and just going into threat mode (so to speak).

If you turn off your analysis so often it becomes a habit then it hurts long play obviously.

That is true, but I would prefer a longer time control, 5 minutes or 3-minutes.
