Bullet chess on Lichess vs Chess.com

Lately I've found that when playing bullet chess on this site I'm losing more and more games through timeouts somtimes by over 20 seconds (particulary agianst US and Canadian players).  I didn't think my speed had slowed down that dramatically so I played some games on Lichess and found the games much more even timewise - my losses were usually where I was checkmated or outplayed rather than huge time outs.

My rating is hovering around 1900 after 50 games on Lichess now vs 1500 here - is the bullet standard that much higher here on Chess.com or is there some strange lag issue with live chess?

I’m 2100 bullet on lichess and 1900 here so yours rating discrepancies doesn’t look weird. I remember being about 1900 lichess when I was 15-1600 bullet here aswell

Bullet on lichess is hands down better. I lose time on pre-moves unnecessarily on chess.com.and it's impossible to fix that issue here. many of my bullet losses on chess.com are owed to disconnects

Thanks for your posts, it ties in with what I have been finding. I'm familiar with this site but I'm done with playing bullet here, the lag is too erratic and frustrating.

The same issue with me in 1 min bullet. I lose most of games by 10-20 seconds here but 2-10 seconds in lichess. My bullet rating in lichess is 1850 and 1550 in chess.com. The lag is very bad in chess.com. Now I play bullet in lichess and daily tournaments in chess.com

Bullet on chesscom and bullet on lichess are 2 COMPLETELY different sports. One is apples, the other is oranges - its impossible to compare the two - because they not the same thing.

You are not "1600" on one and "1900" on the other - these 2 are completely different things. You are 1600 on chesscom 1 minute game with infinite premoves. And you are 1900 on lichess 1 minute game with only one pre move and a 1000% better website that's actually created with the thought in mind to be able to host speed chess.

I wish both sites would offer tournaments where they simulate eachother's way of playing... Mainly premoves. The fact that one site allows only one premove and the other infinite premoves - in "bullet" is not just a trivial thing... Its the MAIN thing - and sets apart the 2 variants. Also in lichess you don't lose time by premoving, but on chesscom you do, that's also a topic of huge difference between the two variants.

Im not saying which is better than the other - because they are not - they 2 completely different variants of chess... Just don't feel bad for not being too "good" in one or the other - if you have trained to be a good lichess bullet player, then you might not be a good chesscom bullet player - and visa versa... You might be a good chesscom bullet player and get in lichess and get obliterated... So - git gud and don't compare apples to oranges
