You have referred to "tons of evidence" to support your statement that non human animals can reason. Evidence is not proof - it is an indication. If I am found by the police with a gun and a nearby person who has been shot, there is evidence that I am responsible for shooting the victim. But this is not proof. An endless supply of examples coild be given of this.
The cat chasing two mice, one of which escapes into a hole, simply is aware that a mouse (the one which did not escape into the hole) is still on the loose. This is not deductive reasoning.

If a monkey could play chess, to lose to one would be the worst thing; the best a monkey could do in rating wise would be 1000 level, and that is GM level for a monkey.

My mind is blown that any monkey would be below 700 rating unless they are young child.
If any monkey has played chess longer than 3 months, he should be at least 700. I was already an 800 when I was about three years old and I see some monkeys barely struggling to reach 700.
Are some monkies just naturally good with high IQ? Do you monkeys practice efficiently? What is stopping you from being 700 or higher?
