I was looking at a puzzle and the game displayed that a pawn could move diagonally without taking a piece. I was able to make this move. I have a screenshot showing the arrow indicating the pawn could do this. Has anyone else come across this?!?

You almost certainly came across en passant.  This is a special chess rule.  Learn all about it in this official chess.com article: https://www.chess.com/terms/en-passant

There are about twice as many diagonal pawn moves as forward pawn moves.
