Can you beat Computer Level 8?

My chess aim is to beat the chess.com computer at level 8. I beat it at level 7 last night because it carelessly gives pawns away in the opening. Level 8 seems a bit tougher as it is not offering free pawns. I'd estimate it's strength around 1750 to 1900. Post your victories up on this thread so we can establish it's weaknesses. Thanks.

It is vulnerable to takebacks. Therefore, it cannot be rated.

Yes, taking back a bad move isn't allowed & checking the evaluation is also cheating. It has to be beaten without any help, then you can truly say you beat level 8.

Well done Bb_gum234 for beating it. Going for a closed position where tactics are minimised is definitely key. Also the shuffling of pieces is interesting. There is a thread in the Game Showcase section where someone played Computer Level 10 against Stockfish. Stockfish won but the game was characterised by a hell of a lot of shuffling from both sides. If that is how computers play then no wonder people would rather watch human chess. I wonder if this is what Carlsen means when he says computers are stupid.
