Can you set a timer when playing bots?

When  you play one of the computer  personalities can you set a clock? If so how?

Yes.  After you select the bot you want to play, select "Custom Settings" and you will see a "Time" option.

You can't. Only the ones in the list are available.

for some reason they just lose on time every game

Use a longer time control

i don't see a custom settings at all

Click the down arrow on the crowns

when i try to against a bot with a clock it says "waiting for opponent" and i can sit there endlessy but it wont let me play against it

To play the bots with a clock you have to use the Custom option and change the Time Control setting. You can't play them on the Play server.
